About our Extra Care scheme

The scheme includes 43 apartments and enables residents who receive commissioned domiciliary care, to lead independent lives with the reassurance that help is available whenever needed.

A dedicated care team together with a range of assistive technology tailored to your individual needs enable you to retain your independence.

The Extra Care scheme also has a community café and hair salon (both of which are open to the local community), an attractive garden, facilities for residents to pursue hobbies and interests and a comfortable lounge area.

In addition it offers easy access to local amenities such as the beautiful Hare Hill Park, the library and shops.

Hare Hill is run in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council which has appointed a care provider.

The Extra Care scheme is available to all who have the appropriate care requirements.

Applying to live at Hare Hill

If you or a family member are interested in applying to move into Hare Hill, you will firstly need to contact Rochdale Council Adult Care Service to request a care needs assessment. The assessment of care needs  will need to be carried out to determine the level of care needs. As part of this care needs assessment, Rochdale Council Adult Care Service will also undertake a financial assessment to determine the level of contribution the person may need to make to the cost of their care at Hare Hill.

Following the care assessment  being completed you will be referred to the Hare Hill Extra Care panel waiting list. The housing application together with the care needs assessment will then be considered by the Hare Hill allocations panel the panel meet approximately every six weeks to consider applications.

When a decision has been made based on the vacancies at Hare Hill Extra Care and the number of hours required to deliver the care.
